One of Eldergarde’s key mechanics is hero hiring. Heroes form the foundation of your army and determine income level, progression speed, and overall account efficiency.
Each hero has their own parameters: daily income, speed, cost, and lifetime. This allows you to understand each unit’s potential in advance and build your development strategy.
Hired from the common folk, Halfling Peasant meets the orcs at the very gates. He does not strike devastating blows, but he can hold back enemies for a long time.
Militia Archer does not seek glory in close combat. He changes position, picks the right moment, and weakens the orc assault with precise shots before they even reach the gates.
Armed with a crossbow, Forest Elf methodically eliminates enemies from afar. Every shot reduces the enemy’s chance of victory.
Arcane Mage is a seasoned spellcaster who fights from a distance. His staff channels powerful magical strikes, weakening enemies.
The unwavering Kings Paladin charges into battle with sword and shield, repelling attacks and punishing anyone who dares come close. He stands where formations break and the outcome of the battle is decided.
Important: the higher the hero level, the higher their income and speed, but their lifetime becomes shorter. This creates a balance between rapid growth and long-term stability.
The core gameplay loop in Eldergarde is built around the “Repel attack” function. Once the attack starts, the battle runs automatically — the player does not need to control the heroes manually.
This is the essence of the project’s idle mechanics: heroes take part in defense on their own, while the player influences the outcome through army development and account growth.
After repelling an attack, the player receives rating points, crystals, base income, and an additional rank bonus. Final profit is calculated automatically based on the account’s current stats.
Rating in Eldergarde determines the player’s current rank and directly affects the profit multiplier. The higher the rating, the higher the rank and the greater the additional income from each repelled attack.
Each rank consists of 5 stars. As the player gains rating points, they progress within the rank, unlock new stars, and gradually increase the profit multiplier.
The main source of rating points is repelling attacks. The amount of rating awarded depends on the account’s current rating and the expected profit from the attack.
The higher the expected reward and the stronger your hero lineup, the greater the rating growth potential. In the future, rating may also be awarded for weapon upgrades in the forge and for completing certain tasks.
Repelling attacks is the main way to earn rating points in the current version of the project.
Later on, rating will also be awarded through the weapon forge and by completing certain tasks.
To rank up faster, it is important to develop your army and regularly use repel attack. The higher your current stats, the faster your progression through the ranking system.
In addition to rating, crystals are awarded after repelling attacks. This is a separate strategic resource that is already accumulating on the account.
In the future, crystals will be spendable in the weapon forge. This section will expand the upgrade system and add new ways to develop your army and the account’s overall combat potential.
Eldergarde already offers a basic but complete progression system: hero hiring, automatic attack repelling, rating growth, profit multipliers, and crystal accumulation. All these mechanics are interconnected and form a unified account development cycle.
